According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Pennsylvania has recently seen its highest amount of positivity of Covid-19 cases since May 2021, as the Delta variant is spreading out speedily in the state. There were over 986 extra positive cases of Covid-19 as reported on Tuesday, which has brought the total number of cases to 1,221,657 all across the state.
The last time Pennsylvania saw these many cases was on May 27, 2021, when the health officials had reported a total of 980 cases.The total number of deaths related to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic has been recorded as 27,831.
Out of those, there are 430 people hospitalized, along with 97 patients in the intensive care unit who are facing complications related to Covid-19.The percent positivity all around the state for the week starting July 16 and ending July 22, 2021, stood at the rate of 2.6%.
The reported number has been the largest in the last 60 days. The state has recorded 11,547,908 total vaccine doses to have been administered, and 5,670,689 people out of them are completely vaccinated. Up till now, 62.5% of the residents of Pennsylvania who are aged 18 and older have been fully vaccinated already.All the citizens of Pennsylvania who are aged 16 or older are now eligible to get their vaccination. The eligibility for the Pfizer vaccine has been extended out to children aged 12 to 15.
