Mercy Hospital Needs all its Employees to Get Vaccinated

Mercy Hospital would necessitate all its existing and future employees to be fully vaccinated. Therefore, the hospital has set Thursday, September 30, 2021, for the whole vaccination date for all the employees.Mercy has updated this condition as the Delta variant is spreading speedily across all the regions. Mercy Hospital and clinics have their branches in Joplin, Springfield, St. Louis, and many other locations. The hospitals serve the groups in Arkansas and Oklahoma, where the number of cases related to the Delta variant is increasing every day.

In Springfield, there are almost 120 positive patients of Covid-19. Of all these patients, 27 patients are in the ICU; another 23 patients are on the ventilator. Also, three deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.Across the network of Mercy Hospital, there are 40,000 employees. The hospital staff at Mercy is 75% vaccinated, and 25% of them are not yet vaccinated.

Freeman Health System President and Chief Executive Officer Paula F. Baker, responded to the announcements by saying that Freeman is closely observing the situation of Covid-19 in their facilities and the community. Still, at present, they will not issue a policy authorizing mandatory vaccination for the employees.
