FDA Recalls Disney Branded Hand Sanitizers

The FDA has voluntarily recalled the Disney brand Sanitizers due to benzene and methanol by Best Brands Consumer Products. FDA has called two lots of Sanitizers featuring Mickey Mouse and Baby Yoda. FDA has started testing the Sanitizers. They have found the presence of benzene in the Baby Yoda and methanol in the Mickey Mouse version. They have released the results to the manufacturer in February. Benzene an organic chemical compound that causes various health issues.

The chemical compound is a carcinogen that can contribute to blood cancer and other blood disorders.Methanol exposure can cause various health issues, including headaches, blurred vision, coma, seizures, permanent blindness, and also death. The Food and Drug Adminstration also added that multiple children who consume these products and adults who drink these products as alcohol are vulnerable to methanol poisoning.

FDA Recalls Disney Branded Hand SanitizersThe manufacturer said that the hand sanitizer is removed from the market and so far it has not received any complaints from the customers. The company also stated that both the lots that were voluntarily recalled were manufactured by a third-party manufacturer. The manufacturer warned the customers that the item with lot 20E21 and best before September 30, 2022, to be discarded. The baby Yodo has nearly sixty-eight percent ethyl alcohol presence and it is available in green.

The sanitizer featuring mickey mouse is from lot 20D21 with best before June 30, 2022 and it is available in blue. The company also advised the customers to stop using the products and discard them. FDA has advised the people who experience problems to report in the MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program.
